A WHIZ KID is defined as an exceptionally brilliant and successful person. If we have the

 privilege of taking care of your child, we at WHIZ KIDS ACADEMY will stimulate this young person mentally, intellectually and physically as well as socially to be a balanced and happy child. We will assist them to grow into happy, healthy and responsible teenagers and adults. 

 
 

Communication with the Parents

Circulars and Newsletters:

 

This will be sent to you on a regular basis. Notices will be put up in the foyer and a copy will be put in the child's bag. It is very important that you read all notices carefully.

Report Cards:

Report cards will be handed out every six months.

Parents Evening:

Will be held every six months, and the main goal is to meet and get to know you, the parent and to have a chat with the teacher and to meet our staff. Please feel free to make suggestions and to discuss any problems with us. These evenings are important to us. Please make a special effort to attend.

School Concert:

Our annual concert is usually in November. You will be notified well in advance.

Other:

Should you promote or make anything, please tell us. Suzette will make sure all the other parents know too. Watch the foyer for special offers or information from fellow parents. Let us support each other.

We constantly need all sorts of things like buttons, old watches, newspapers and magazines, candles, old Christmas Cards and clothing, virtually all the scrap that you want to get rid of. Please send it to school. We use this for all our creative activities.

 We have extra-curricular activities available for our children e.g.

  • Qualified Teachers

  • Kindermuzik for Babies and Toddlers

  • Computer literacy

  • Monkeynastix - physical development

  • Piano lessons - Individual

  • Ballet and modern dancing

  • Soccer kidz

  • Swimming

  • Drama classes

  • Breakfast, Snack, Lunch - Balanced meals ( four weekly change)

We are also planning a babysitting facility for nightshift parents.

Daily Program

  • Projects are aimed at the stimulation of the child's intellect

  • Creative activities are taught on a daily basis

  • Active play through body movement and dance enhancing muscle development and balance

  • Music and movement form part of developing the child's balance, co-ordination and general feeling for music and song

  • Development of speech and reason

  • Religious and ethical development without advocating a specific dogma

  • School readiness programs - preparatory writing, math's and reading for grade R
